What are the most largest growing sa/ca cichlid?

There have been records of male Dovii reaching 30". If Pbass doesn't count, then there is no SA/CA Cichlid I know of or heard of that gets bigger than a Dovii. Being in captive, Pbass doesn't get that large. But in the wild, Pbass push everything 40"+.

Years back I had my last Male Umbee up to 32" prior to selling him. Measurement was taken from front to end of caudal (pictures were taken). I actually shipped this fish from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada all the way to New Orleans. It had to be shipped diagonally in a "dolphin" box. I thought it had no chance in hell at surviving the distance but it made fine. Sure would love to play with them again.

Some peacock bass species grow larger than that.

those arent really cichlids to me tho. They have nice colors but cant see them much more than just fishes to eat.
