those arent really cichlids to me tho. They have nice colors but cant see them much more than just fishes to eat.

what makes them cichlids is being members of the family Cichlidae...not sure what arbitrary definition you have of what a cichlid is.

i understand that.

but I see them as food rather than pets to look at and enjoy. They are totally different to me. Dont care what who says. Just like some ppl have pigs as pets. I would think a pig is food.

Economy is bad and Im hungry ya see

Years back I had my last Male Umbee up to 32" prior to selling him. Measurement was taken from front to end of caudal (pictures were taken). I actually shipped this fish from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada all the way to New Orleans. It had to be shipped diagonally in a "dolphin" box. I thought it had no chance in hell at surviving the distance but it made fine. Sure would love to play with them again.
I call crap. Where are these pictures?

As far as the thread topic goes the largest SA/CA are the dovii and Umbee.

With ya on point #1, but you lost on on point #2. Temensis grow quite a bit larger than dovii and umbee.
