And Personally if I were you I'd not start testing out meds like this???

doubt you have anything wrong besides environment your giving them .

Ive also turned down the temp a few degrees for the heck of it. It may just help. My conditions dont seem to be the issue. Every other water perameter is in check. The strange thing is that its just my female that is breathing heavy.

Seems to be breathing less heavy but still heavy. I will see in the week to come if it gets better. This video gives you guys an idea of what it looks like. Just fed so its a bit dirty.

few things to think about-

How high is your water in your tank? all the way to the top? Touching the top rim?
What kind of filters are you using? Canisters? Wet Dry? Do you Run a UV? Cant believe the filtration question has not been asked?
Tank size?

She looks healthy and active, and seems to be eating well. How deep is the sand in the middle of your tank?

300 gallon Tank is full why does that matter? My tank turns over about 8 times/hr. i run a sump with filter socks changed out every 2-3 days. K1 in fluid bed. 2 trickle towers/wet dry consisting of about 1000 bioballs. Aeration in tank and in sump. UV part time. 4+ litres of seachem matrix media. Reactor with pura complet and carbon. No ammonia no nitrite very low nitrate. ph around 7.6 and gh kh are ideal.

They mound up the sand up down the middle. Its probably about 6"-8" deep at its deepest.
She is very active and healthy. Eats a ton. Very interactive when there are people around.

the ray looks happy and active enough. if i were you i would put a couple more air pumps/sources in the tank and see if that helps. if it does then you might rethink dosing with meds. might be worth thinking about before the meds. imo meds can have unwanted side effects so dosing with meds without knowing what your treating can cause more problems.

i think the depth of sand reference was to do with the rays sucking up anaerobic bacteria. reducing the amount of substrate would rectify this if its a problem but if your concerned then its something that wont do any harm to do :)

good luck :)

Thanks yargnits but I have well enough aeration. I hadn't really thought about the substrate. I am noticing a positive difference in her breathing right now. Im hoping it clears up soon.
