As the title says , in my 135g i just tested the water and the ammonia is at 0.75ppm ? the tanks been running for 2 years so its definatly cycled, nitrites 0 nitrates at 5

did anything die recently that you may not have known about? or hows your water changes and things. mine spiked but that was from stupid ***'s putting soap in my tank. How are the fish acting?

well i did just notice my female con died but i seen her this morning acting fine but now at feeding time she was dead so she wasnt in there long , as for the rest (oscars) ive been fighting a hith battle , the tanks on a constant water change drip system been on it for a little over a year now nitrates never go over 5ppm and i feed hikari gold do gravel vacs every week with a 50% wc ... thats the other thing i cant figure out whats causing there hith??

anything new like Driftwood? Did you do a water change? Is your filter working properly? did you change your food?

Nothing new added , its on a continous drip system , i rarely do wc exept when i gravel vac, all filters working as they should its got an eheim 2028 a ac110 and a diy sump with a 900gph pump all filters been on there for at least 1 year if not more

If it's on a drip, test your tap water.. maybe the city started adding chloramine.

Other than that.. What is your turnover GPH rate on your filtration? stocking level? over feeding? uneaten food? dirty filter choking biomedia?

thought about that researched into whats in my water and only chlorine is added.

stocking is 2 oscars (full grown) and a jd , there was 1 con but she passed , i know its a little on the heavy side for stocking , and for turn over it would be 900+500+ ? i cant remember what the eheim does... so at least 1500gph so its over 10x for turn over they usualy always eat all that i give them if theres still food floating by the time i make my rounds on the other tanks i net the remainder out

What are all the water parameters?

Tank temp?

Are the fish aggressive to each other causing stress?

How are you treating the HITH?

Are you supplementing vitamins minerlas? (ie phosphorous, calcium, vitamins C & D)

Adding salt?

Do you use feeders a lot?

Do you use carbon in the filters?

temps at 78

nitrites 0 nitrates never over 10 ammonia was at 0.75 when i first posted just finished a gravel vac and re tested ammonia is at 0  but that could be cause i just did a gravel vac and a small 20% wc ???

im treating the HITH by adding vita chem to there pellets , no salt , no carbon in any filters in any of my tanks , there WAS a carbon filter to remove the chlorine in the water change system but i recently ( about a month ago) changed the system to use an aging container with air added and a power head to move the water for the chlorine to evaporate and removed the chlorine filter so now theres two whole house filters with 5 micron cartridges, I never use feeders

im thinking it was that carbon cartridge filter in the wc system that started the HITH , after i changed it the HITH started getting better but its recently flared up a little
