angelfish are commonly bred in 10 gallons for a pair, so as a breeding pair a twenty will be alright

ive seen lotsa these breeding setups for angels and discus alike and they survived there very well for a long time. for a breeding pair, a twenty gal would be just fine. an angelfish aint that large of a thing either and a 55 would be a good size com for angels, or for breeders a fry growoutThose are used specifically for breeding without thinking of long term health of the fish. Beside a adult angelfish is not a small thing and the male will stress the heck out of the female. Ideally angelfish should be in 55s IMO

hmm I think u have very small plates then.if so I think u talking bout altums. im talking bout scalars. these breeding setups are appropriate, so maybe urs weren't a breeding pair.I've had a pair of angels in a 29 and they weren't comfortable and given time angels can get the size of a small plate but to each their own I prefer to give them room
