I have two saratoga jardinii... I love my pony fish... From my experiences, they will eat anything nearly... I fed a variety of pellets, frozen white bait, prawn and squid as well as bloodworm and beef heart, crickets and mealworms and very rarely feeder fish...

It has numerous other common names, including northern saratoga, Australian bonytongue, toga and barramundi... It is a member of the subfamily Osteoglossinae, a (basal) teleost group. Its scientific name is sometimes spelled S. jardini.
