so im getting rid of my FH and giving it to my dad and being careful not to make the same mistake twice im doing research before i buy anything new. i want to get one more cichlid to add to my 125. current stock is 2 cons 4 gts 1 birchir and 2 spotted pims. the FH i spoke of earlier is going to my dad this weekend and ill be getting rid of 2 of my GTs once i get a pair. so the final stock will be 2 GTs and 2 Cons, a birchir and 2 spotted pims. all fish are currently round 3-4in. ive been thinking about adding another, maybe a manganese? what do you guys think? if not a managanese then what could i add, maybe a RT? im open to suggestions

Texas cichlid or jack dempsey

do you have any? would love to see some pics. whats the max size on a txeas

Well, you kind of have a lot of options. Far as texas go, they would definitely work. They get around 10-12" typically. I have heard of very few instances where they get bigger than 12. I saw a pic of one where the keeper said it was 17". Er..... I don't know about 17 but it definitely dwarfed the oscar in the tank. Check my signature and see what I have in my 125. I will probably have to thin it down eventually but right now there is peace. Other fish you could do would be a dempsey, an oscar. A midas may work pending on it's attitude as well as your terror's attitude. I would find something that would compliment the color of your Gt. I would think even a couple severum would work. I guess if it were me and I were just picking one fish to go with a GT I would probably get a male jack dempsey. These are just my thoughts.

when you say compliment the colors of my GT what do you mean? like the GTs green with an RTs red. i looked at texas and there just not something i find visually pleasing. and as for oscars, for me its just so hard to find a good looking one. i like the idea of JDs... any other suggestions

By compliment I guess I meant something that will give a color contrast with the Gt. I guess where the texas and dempsey have a similar color scheme of pearling blues and greens maybe you would want to go with something that would have a different color entirely. A jd would/should work well in that sized tank. I also had a vieja argentea in my 125 that worked real well with my GT at the time. They are a big beautiful white cichild. That may look cool! Or a vieja synspilum. Check em out. They should work.

what about a festae or a RT or are they the same thing

you have plenty of options, but having 4 GT's will lead to conspecific aggression. I'd thin the number in half and if anything replace with lone specimens of other species

exactly what i plan to do, i just want to get a pair out of my GTS first, once i get that ill get rid of the other two. that was itll only be 2 cons 2 gts and a birchir and pim as cleanup
