what canister for a 220 liter tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok now i know what i will do with the lids but the glass strip on all the sides is the problem because its about 1.5 or 2 cm wide so the pipes couldnt go against the glass side, or dont the pipes need to sit against the glass?

or can i use the suction cup off the filter spray bar in pic 1 and 3?

whats home depot?? i dont think there is home depot here in aus but i will try to acrylic for the tops, but the main problem is the glass edge thats on all sides because even if i got an acrylic lid the edge will still be there.

oh crap.. i didnt see that your not from the US....

hmmm... i wonder if you ugys have a hardware store.. or if you guys even call it that... With acrylic.. u can drill holes...
But i see that your tank's top is very odd... its not a typical glass tank where the top has a trim over it.. it seems to be a custom build tank?

Either way.. acrylic is your best shot and using a canister..

yeah i think i could get some acrylic somewhere because there a couple of shops that would sell it.

and the tank was bought from a petshop and all the tanks for sale there have those tops i think.

ah ic.. well best of luck.. i do hope you'll be able to make it work for you..

I'm using perspex for tank lids as a much safer option than glass.

I get mine from a place that does car window repairs. Great stuff as you can trim it to fit around filters, pipes etc.

If the bend in the plactic pipes can't accommodate the glass strip along the edges, I would suggest that your remove one of the strips along the narrow side of the tank. Use a sharp narrow blade to trim/cut the glue so you can remove the strip of glass.

i could remove the glass strip but i dont know if i should because its there for the lids to sit on and i dont know if they could sit there properly without it.

if the pipes wont go in properly with it there i will try to remove it.

im going to try and get a 6 foot tank next year when i get my mechanics apprenticeship, so before i set that up i will get holes drilled for the pipes.
