On my 180 Malawi reef tank I use 2 FX5s and 2 XP3...Ill probably stop one of the XP3's once the new FX5s get more established...the XP3 will go to my 60 which currently just has Aquaclears
I'm running a cascade 1000. I read how these fluvals, and renas leak but i havent read about a cascade leaking. I to am thinking about using a ebay canister filter they seem great fro the price
Running a Cascade (PennPlax) 1200 on one take (with a Magnum 250 and sponge along side) 90G, and the other is a 1500 along side a sumpAnother 90G. The other filters in use are a porret (Hamburg style) filter (55G) and a Marineland Penguin 250 HOB(25G).
Feedback-I like my Cascades, cheap to buy and maintain, and they keep my water conditions great!
I got a Penn-Plax, a Rena and a Fluval. I got all of them used. I'm not a huge fan of the Fluval cause it's loud and I'm not a huge fan of the Penn-Plax because of how the hoses are connected to the filter. The Rena is the easiest to use and quiet, but the Rena is also the newest of them all.
currently i dont use one, but im waiting to buy one, my friend is giving me a good deal on a "sunsun" i think its made by marineland, he has one as well in use and i've read some reviews on it, all good so far, so ill vote for that, maybe ill get it in about 2 weeks.
