its a southern brown bullhead, hands down. Its definitely not a flat had, head is to round, plus, flat heads lower jaw extend past the upper lip.

you beat me to it, and the way the guy is holding it you cant tell if the lower jaw extends out past the upper. And to get a flathead that size is a lucky catch they are extremely fast growers and grow up to 3 pounds in the first year

the flathead cat is a native species, so its fine here
