Depends on the personality of the individual fish. You can't determine an entire specie's aggression on a single fish or even a group. If i had to put one up there is would be Midas. :D

It depends on the individual fish... it depends on the size of the fish in reference to the others...

If there is a point to this thread beyond curiousity sharing details will offer much more intelligent assistance...

Ime flowerhorns are really really nasty.

I wouldn't classify the JD as a "bad ass" fish

In my opinion they are actually rather timid. They'll defend their territory, they'll defend their fry but I've never seen my initiate a fight or anything.

lol if we were talking about individual fish the poll would be

whose dovii is badder

my dovii or your dovii

but this is general, which cichlid in general out of the 4 is the baddest.

and under general circumstances, not including size or what you wanna say "ohh yeah that makes a big difference"... dovii would have to be the baddest.

you can try and come up with an arguement and just go back to "ooh yeah the individual fish though" but it has nothing to do with the topic.

A healthy full grown Emperor Cichlid that has been starved for a few days. ha..

How can we not consider relivant factors such as a fish's size?

So if we assume (which was not suggested in the original post) that we are considering full grown males of each species... then the topic is a waste of time as a 2' Cichlid is going to be tougher than a 1' Cichlid...

Of this list Doviis are obviously the largest growing fish and therefore would be the obvious winner...

But we could just as easily assume we are discussing "pound for pound" or "ounce for ounce"... and if we made this assumption then there is no clear answer, as "in general" Dovii, Jag & RD are all of the same calibre... so the only correct answer would be "depends on the individual fish"...

Making a poll without designating criteria holds no value... arguing what someone else meant when they did not designate what they meant holds even less value...

I just don't really understand the actual selection we are given...

Especially because in terms of aggression there are plenty of very aggressive ca/sa cichlids.

I would say of the selection I'd think the dovii would be considered the "baddest"

But what does the op mean by "baddest" because even that could be defined in different ways.
