What constitutes a monster tank IYO?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think a monster tank is a tank with monsters in it. For example.. my tank is a mere 55g, but it has a very grumpy Jack Dempsey living in it. He is mos def a monster.

When it comes to gallons, I tend to think that 125g is the minimum for a monster tank.

before visiting this site, i thought my 250g was monster.

now, i say a monster tank, you need diving gear just to clean.

my 7ft 250g would be too small as a sump for some of these guys tanks

I think anything over a 55 could be a monster tank depending on occupants. But tank alone being a monster I would say 240+ gallons

Oh great. Now I feel like a wimp. I'm gonna go to some other forum for non-monster fish keepers.

i feel that way everyday on MFK :)

I know! Seriously, everybody at school thinks that 100G is huge, and then theres you people with a severe case of MTS, and I'm like WOW!

imo, 4-6'x18" at least for a monster tank.

I'm hoping to set up a 96x48x30 in the next couple of months. I will be buying some sheets of acrylic and doing a DIY project. The Milkman makes it look awful easy. I would consider that a monster fish tank!
