what could i stock a 300gallon rubbermaid with?

Koi can live in there for years before they outgrow that tub. I'd be more worried about the bioload of those nasty carp before I was worried about their size. There's a reason why I keep them outside.

There is only one way to find out. :)

With the right amount of maintenance, filtration, and w/c I don't see why not. Many people with that size tank keep them for life. I am not saying I recommend this but I think it can be done. The TSN might not be too happy space wise but i think he will make it. :)

so could someone answer my question.. can i have a tiger shovel nose in the 300? for life

Those rubbermaid containers are normally fairly round and tall correct? If so, make sure that it isn't a fish that needs the length of a tank. I hear people use those often for breeding rays? FX5 is a great start but the more filtration the better.. Even a sponge filter and powerhead. That would be crazy flow and good filtration with the FX5.

hey all i havnt got the bin yet still trying to track one down but its a forsure thing my arowana is going in it forsure and i think ill raise a tsn and who noes maybe by when he is 30inch ill sell the 180 and the rubbermaid and get something truly monster

mine is part of the filter system for a 220 and a 300. right now it has a res,4 oscars,a jack dempsy, bumble bee cichlid. 3 huge plecos. there is a real nice arrowana both my son and i would like to get to put in there. and most of my would for other tanks is soaking in there till it can be place in other tanks

i would only keep goldfish/koi or perhaps light colored catfish. nothing will show up well.

how about an albino channel cat?
