I think your timing with posting was a bit off there. :p

Haha...yeah I read through and then posted that...after it posted I went back and read again and saw your comment before it...then I was fml I hope Ryan doesn't catch that LOL

A few days!!! Dude, ive been begging my dad to let me get a lizard for years, YEARS!!! Not days, I do have to admit I didn't think of the fact that the monitor would be even more shy if i put another lizard in. But where did you gather that I don't know anything about monitors? I do, this is just my first lizard and im new to this so im asking questions. And before you ask "Why would you get a lizard that's beyond your experience"? because im ready to tackle any trouble my monitor gives and I know what im doing and getting into.

Thanks for reminding me stuff I already know and claiming without evidence that im ignorant. Just because im 13 doesn't mean I don't know what im doing.
I never said any of that though, did I? I myself am fifteen, it would be a bit hypocritical of me, don't you think?

IMO, experience or knowledge of other lizards has zero value when it comes to varanids. The care and behavior is so much different than other lizards that it doesn't matter if someone's kept a million Geckos, it doesn't mean they can care for a monitor. Behavior wise, they are closer to mammals than lizards.
If you are focused on monitors, get a monitor. One thing to remember though is most care sheets on them are absolute rubbish, so it's much better to get information from actual keepers or even better, breeders. (The latter are rare when it comes to monitors though.)

Im not angry, just i don't appreciate someone underestimating me because of an assumption. I wasn't angry till you got here.

You aren't angry, but yet you are. Very interesting! lol. Chill out bro, I don't even like lizards. But people on this forum really do know what they're talking about so if you ask for advice then accept what they have to say

I said im not angry, because I sound agitated at A. gigas and I thought it was unjust, I even apologized. I said I was angry because of your first reply. That was the most anger-inducing thing I heard all day.

Recall this

^Another one of those guys that asks for advice and then gets pissed when he hears something that he doesn't want to hear lol

Woah! accept what they have to say! what are you talking about that's not what was going on, I just got annoyed that somebody assumed im arrogant. I don't know where your coming from but that's not what happened.

Didn't mean to make you angry! It's just aggrivating when people ask for advice and don't use it. You can do whatever you want to do, if you have the knowledge, resources, and availability, then go for it! Was that a little less anger-inducing? ;)
