What Do I Do When My Fish Arrive in the Mail?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The day before I make sure to do a small water change and change the poly pads in the filter. When fish arrive, I take some water from the tank, add Amquel (to detox ammo) into a bucket then immediately put the fish and bag water into the bucket. Leave them in there for 10 minutes. I leave the lights off in the tank and then net the fish into the tank. I also buy from a good vendor so ich has never been an issue.

those are some great pics... :grinno:

I guess the anticipation is too much for y'all, so here are the pics so far. I just did a scheduled water change and as soon as the water clears I'll try to grab some pics of the new fish. As you know, they are not going to be showing their full (male) colors just yet.

Good choice. Dave's has some awesome fish! I'm getting an eel from him at the end of the month.

man, this seems like a great idea...except for the shipping cost! unless i wanna buy 30 fish, i cant see paying for the expensive shipping. There isnt a way around this, is there?

Drip method in a 5 gallon bucket.

This is the best way to do it. Drip for about 3-4 hours and then put the fish in the tank.
