Most definitely 1

yeah i'd choose 1! hey...if u dont want it, just hand it over to me ;) i'd be happy to take it off your hands!!!

1, that house describe mine kinda...

3 bathrooms (3 actual toilets but two bathrooms) 4 bed rooms 2 studies. 1.5 acres, 45 mins away from school, work, friends, family.

I voted one, but maybe you should take this poll as a grain of salt in your decision. If you think about it, 90% of people will say one because it is not them making a 2 hour round trip drive every day....

You're right..

But I've driven 1 hour + each way for work.. and you know what.. At the end of the day I'd rather drive an hour than live in some of the overpopulated/congested citys where work is found. lol

It's not a rocket science decision. Most will pick #1 as it's a way more attractive house, and alot of the country already drive 45mins or 1 hour to work. Some people in cali actually drive way more commuting to work than 1 hour.

true true and true

well, i would say its a land slide decision here. all of you helped me out a whole lot. even if i dont get that particular home, i will be looking in that same area until i find the perfect one. i used to live there actually and did the long commute all the time and you guys are totally right.

at the end of the day, which would i rather go home to....
a tiny little cave in the middle of the cement jungle...
or a giant kingdom at the top of a mountain...

hmmmmmm....

Having had both, I would DEFINITELY take NUMBER 2.

Time is such a valuable commodity. If choose living 60 minutes from work instead of 15, you are losing 90 minutes every day to commuting.

Let's say you work 5 days a week, fifty weeks a year, that's 22,500 minutes per year, or 375 hours, or 15.6 full twenty-four hour days every year.

Living outside the city might seem relaxing, but driving in traffic every day is definitely not. That's not to mention the cost of gasoline, wear and tear on your call, and the increased risk of "unforeseen events" associated with all that extra driving.

Also, I've had much more luck reselling property that is convenient to everything, especially in times where the economy is not that good.

I know I'm in the minority, but you can always vacation in the country. Once your time is gone, you can't get it back!!!

No, you bring up very good points and i aggree with you, to a point.
I have commuted my whole life everywhere i have lived. Except once. I lived close to work and closer to friends for about a year. It was great.. but that was a rental. I rented my father-n-law's home. He is by far the most annoying person i know.

unfortunately i cant afford a nice house like his that is central to everything, so i would be stuck with a little cave near the ghetto. i have a baby now and i want him to grow up with what i had. a safe country lifestyle.

i actually enjoy driving. me and my husband are car nuts and like to drive whenever we can.
fortunately, the place that is far from everything doesnt include a lot of traffic. just a long distance.

i still aggree with you though, that it takes up a lot of time. but for me its worth it. i grew up in the country with land and trees and birds chirping.

i'm tire of hearing cars and traffic and blasting rap music and bass through our shared walls.
i want to hear the sounds of nature out my window....which includes ... pretty much nothing...nothing.
just birds and wind. :D
