What do you feed your aro?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
on the mealworms and superworms i normally crush 1 pellet per 100grams .. so i dont really feed them that much ... also with the crickets as they dont usually last long..

My silver arrow used to live on whole prawns (just cut off the sharp bit on the head) and defrosted fresh anchovy (His favorite of the two).
My Jardini started on pelets (but never arrow pellets because he wouldn;t eat them) and then moved on to deshelled prawns and now at 8" he takes half a shelled prawn at a time. He won;t touch the deshelled ones now! For a bit of variation he gets pellets we he will still take if he's hungry and i jut dropped a feeder from the pond in his tank. It lasted all of 5 seconds (And that included the time it took him to swim from the other end of the tank to the fish!)

The reason I feed the arrows prawns with the shells on is because I think the kerotine in the prawn shells does them good and helps improve the quality of their scales. I maybe wrong but it seems to work for me...

I just started feeding my baby jardini (4-5 inches) earthworm last night. I cut them into small pieces. The jar loved them. Question: Should I squeeze out the guts of the worms, I mean the black stuff like dirt or so? I did. But the worm pieces don't have much left after I did that. Just s little meat/skin left...

i feed mine birds, leftovers, and dog food...lol

RTG, I rotate market shrimp, crickets and super worms (the ones that look like tan caterpillars).
I always make sure I'm feeding it 2 of the 3 and phase out and in the 3rd food source every month or so.
It's always happy and does not get addicted to any of the food listed.
It will not eat pellets.
I cut the shrimp up, the fish is about 15in and eats 2.
The crickets I put about 20 in in one go and the fish goes radio rental.
The worms i put in one at a time because they sink.
One day I'll feed it one thing the next the other.
