evening feed: lots of tilapia and smelts.
every friday evening they get jumbo earthworms.
And yes some rays do eat better than their owners and certainly in most cases cost more $$$$!!

also in the spring we catch small pan fish and minnows that we behead gut and chop for the rays. I say spring because worms will not have developed on the fish yet. They also get market fish from time to time also w/e is on sale. As far as feeding fish would go i would say stay to fresh water stuff i think its less oily or something. but most of the time we feed the smelts and market shrimp. Though i gotta say a few times those sea food mixes look tempting but rays are suborn.
