What do you guys do for work?

I'm an artist/writer that's in aviation. How's that for a contradiction, lol.

It could depend on what "in aviation" means. I met a guy who paints racers.

He's in aviation.

I flew, dad was a radarman, mom was our ground support. Sis inspected USAF commissary.
We lived on a dozen airfields. We were all with it most of our lives. My uncles served too, as air corps ground crew.

But I was the only pro artist in the family and the only one to actually fly any aircraft. My eyes were too poor to be a pro pilot though. I was in a Piper Cherokee flying club. Later a Bellanca Super D, same club.

Anyhow I think those two things go together just fine. ;)

I am a lead mechanic for Boeing at the 737 Delivery Center in Seattle. Also, an Air National Guard member technically in logistics. I ensure humanitarian aid packages arrive on time and on target in 500, 1000, and 2000lb options.

I sure we have all seen World War 2 movies where you have lots of Artillery on a line blasting away. Don't work like that in the modern environment. With radar being able to track the rounds back to point of fire we are susceptible to counter battery fire.

In the modern era each Howitzer has GPS on board so as soon as we stop we send our grid coordinates via a digital encryption and Singars radio to Battalion Headquarters and in seconds can start firing rounds.

I was in when it all changed from old style to the digital version.

Old style was two platoons of four guns. Each functioned independently of each other. Modern is four platoons of two guns. Old style was 5 minutes from Howitzer stop to be able to fire. New way is seconds.

Have to be way more mobile now to avoid CBF(counter battery fire) we are not in a place we fired from for more than 5 minutes. It's all about "Shoot Move Comunicate"

I would go through your post history and post a link to it but you have 1,500 posts which isn’t that much but I’m busy dealing with a few things around the house. Maybe I’ll do it later

I do however remember it being somewhere in the lounge area I think.
Good memory for someone with that bad of a memory lmao.
