What do you guys keep with your bichirs?

I have my few bichirs in my African tank. African butterfly fish, Ctenopoma acutirostre, African knife fish, and ropefish round out the other species in the tank for now. I dont want to go the cichlid route.

EDIT : Oh yeah... I have a couple of mastcembelus moorii (One of the african spiny eels) as well. keeping with the whole african theme and all.
 
Clown Knife
A school of large clown loaches 6-8 inches each
2 x 10" Bala Sharks
Large Gold Severums
Large Silver Dollars
Adult Red-Tail Shark
8" African Featherfin Catfish


Other fish that I have kept with large ornate bichirs include:

large datnoids
large fat sleeper gobies
large striped raphael catfish

I currently have a school of adult filament barbs with my bichirs (I have 2 ornates and 2 endlicheri, the ornates are 13" and 15", the endlicheri are 14" and 19"). I would not recommend this with your ornate, though, since your bichir is already large. My bichirs grew up with these fish in the tank from the time my bichrs were under 2". I don't use feeders and they leave my barbs alone...of course, I keep them well fed as well.
 
I must agree that I feel bichirs that grow up with fish doesn't seem to pay em attention in my experience .... Years ago I had a 8" sen that lived with neons and Guppys every new small fiah I added got eatin including a baby channel cat .... But he never touched the couple Guppys and neons in there b4 him

on Saturday, i reintroduced the flowerhorn hybrid and i added a green terror at the same time that is about the same size. the gourami ignores them and the bichirs so far haven't eaten them so i think they are safe from predation. i think i am happy with this setup assuming it works in the long run.
 
right now i have a 9" silver arowana and 9" tiger shovelnose with my 12" endli and 11" congi. i'm also growing out some peacock bass(1x5" orino and 3x3" unknown type), 2 3-4" datnoids, and a 5" black ghost knife with my 6" lap.
 
I have Silver dollars and a Black Arowana in with mine now.
I've kept clown loaches successfully if good size 6" or bigger.
Haven't tried much else but, then again I focus on just bichirs haha
 
Filament barbs, alestes tetras, pt Chalceus,red wolf, and sun spot cat.
