i'm buying a big datnoid next week, approximately 10 to 11", people say it's gonna be a gamble because usually they are placed in plastic bags here when small but the thing is even big guys are placed in plastic bags. the thing is that big dats as people say move frequently and would puncture the plastic bag during the span of travel, in this case in a plane. i don't wanna end up getting a dried out datnoid with a hefty price tag.

Well I can tell you from personall experince Big dat + bag = lots of water outside of the bag. I picked up a big one from a member here (9 inches) and he killed 5 large bags in 5 minits. Luckely i only had a 20 minit ride to get him home so he didn't die. When I got home there was only 2 inch of water left and he was on his side. dats + bags = bad

mine would take 2 hours before it reaches home. i don't know if the supplier would be willing to place one in a cooler! whew! that 11" IT would be a big loss in case he would ship it in a plastic bag.

Styrofoam box-seal the edges with tape and half fill. Will wiegh a fair bit bit but is secure. I use a large plastic bag to put inside the bix and then fill with water.

When igot my 9"IT he was placed in a very large bag and then placed in a polystyrene box with lid, this is probably how he arrived at the lfs and i didnt have any problems and the journey was about 50 min.
