What do you hate the most about fish keeping?

the only thing that really bothers me is euthanising. its a sometimes necessary evil and i hate having to do it.
 
when your fish die and its someone elses fault
 
there are two things i hate about this hobby

1 when equipment calfs and you dont catch it right away

2 that my tanks are not big enough to swim in though i could take a bath in my 180
 
I have it easy, my husband does all the hard work maintaining the tanks and I just sit back and enjoy their beauty. My only complaint is that he spends so much time cleaning and doing water changes every other day on our 240 gallon tank. It takes up so much of our time together but it makes him happy and our three foot arapaima too. He can't use little buckets he drags a trash can through our house multiple times, poor guy.
 
Cost of everything

Not being able to have the tank sizes or certain fish I want

The space everything takes up

Fish dying, fish not getting along, or fish getting sick
 
im just about to clean my filter coz i think my fire eel has got caught in the motor.....i can smell a nasty smell in the whole of my house....i havnt even got the lid off the tank or the filter so im dreading it....i may just take it down my lfs and get them to do it.

Totally agree with you on that one!

I hate cleaning my canister filters. Yuck!
 
Living in California and not being able to own rays and gar.

Thinking I have come up with an awesome DIY project only to see that someone here has already done it and did way better than I ever could have.

LFSs going belly up and having to buy from places I normally wouldn't be caught dead in.
