What do you look for in a Petstore?

Honest Staff, well maintained fish/animals. tanks do not need to be crystal clear and algae free. But the fish do have to ook well and properly fed, and content in their tanks. I hate over stocked tanks as well. and avoid stores that push/carry anything I don't agree with morally in the fish industry. My usual store doesn't carry alot of the monster fish in stock, but he will more then willingly special order it for you. which may sound 50/50 But at least you not gonna impulse buy a RTC, or some equally hard to house monster without at least some pre-thought. He's there to make money. I won't begrudge him that. and he laughs everytime he gets some painted ickyness in and I openenly curl my lip and make an icky face at the tank. if fewer people wanted the fish he'd stop ordering them. But unfortunately they sell. He's always honest about what he's selling. If I need a scientific name.. he will call the distributor if need be to get it. If I'm not sure about somehting, and he's openly confused as well. I'll go home and do some research before going back to get it, or not.
lol honest salesmen are hard to find. well mostly honest. soon as you drop big bucks on an honest answer, you start getting more answers ime.

Healthy stock, good selection. Good selection of dry goods, without over inflated prices on those goods is nice as well. Clean, well laid out store is a plus too.
Staff doesn't matter to me. Obviously they should be polite but pressing or knowledgable I don't really need. I hate staff that say "And what size tank do you have?" at 7pm on a friday when I'm wearing a MFK shirt, come in there almost every week and am always polite. Gets on my nerves and drives me to order from online vendors. That is my only complaint for my regular fish store.
