What do you think the next fish will be that decreases in popularity and why???

No kidding... I love clowns, but why the hell are they so expensive, if they're a common fish? I'm sure they're being farmed somewhere... stop the madness damn it!

They're not that expensive if you know where to look. Most LFS put a high price on them because people are willing to pay for them even at those high prices. And I believe most clown loaches are still wild caught.

I don't know if the whole aro trend will die out, but I know I'll never buy one again. Mostly because of the *!$#* working at big al's. When I was first looking at aro's I told the guy I only had a 55g and couldn't keep it for life. He said that was no problem and I could bring it back when it outgrew the tank and trade it in on something else. I ended up buying a 125g tank, and when it outgrew that tank big al's wouldn't take it, I think his exact words were, "Sorry, but nobody is buying big arowanas. I can't take it." I even drove around to all the LFS's with pics of the fish and nobody wanted it because it was too big. Seems like the whole business of selling aros is selling small ones to people who don't know much about the species.

I thought about another tank upgrade, but I couldn't afford, didn't have room for it, and really didn't like the fish enough to go through the burden.

Sadly stuff like this happens in the trade every day. This is why pacu's, rtc's, and others get this same treatment.
