I'm sure there are some FH geeks on here that could give you a much better explanation, but it's based on the coloration and shape of the fish. Mostly coloration, the more vibrant the colors and the better the patterns, the higher grade the fish.

He is mean! I have never had a more aggressive cichlid. I like his color compared to some of the flowerhorn pictures i've seen. Some have too much color and too big of a hump. I like the look of him.

most anmes of FH are thought up only a few different names are widely excepted!

reasons for aggresion are because they are usually bred with aggresive fish such as midas sometimes also sometimes festaes but all different FH are differently bred!
