Someone told me he is a peal flowerhorn and they are not supposed to be as bright. Ever heard of a pearl FH?

FH=Flowerhorn

Oh and I meant pearl FH, not peal. Typo.

Could be...I know the pearls are usually more pastel colors. I would check on some of the flowerhorn forums. I'm sure they would know.

That's probably it. It has alot of pastel blue and pink.

Definetely not as colorful as some of the pictures I have seen. He still has some very cool subtle colors. I think the really colorful ones look strange. He has a good mix of pastel pink and blue/green.

What does low grade mean?

From my knowlege the grade of a FH is based on the black lateral markings on it's body. Since the popularity of the FH is based on chinese folklore, lucky head notches, and chinese letters and numbers being "seen" on the sides of FH's, the grades come from the amount of markings on the side of the particular fish, that being said, a AA FH being the best is a FH that has bold,and complete lateral markings from head to tail, followed by grades A,B,C, and D respectively.The B grade is usually the mid-grade and represents a FH that has only half of it's body in either direction head-mid, or tail-mid, marked with lateral patterns.;)
