What do you think this is?

I would give yours a grade of C, not that it matters, you have a pretty and healthy looking fish:headbang2 . I just hope you didn't pay top dollar just because he's a FH. Price should be based on quality grade, not the size of the fish. That being said it's usually better to by small FH @ 10.00, then to pay 50.00 for a big D grade fish. Hope this helps:D

It's head looks alittle mis shaped. But it is very cool though. Probably a cross between a midas and a trimac or a flowerhorn bred back to a parent. Here are the species that I think probably made it. Then there is a picture of what a flower horn from those two species is supposed to look like. (On who's authority I don't know.) I say if it looks cool then its worth what ever you say it is!!!!

:iagree: I feel if you see a cool fish pay what you feel is a fair price, just beware when buying FH's alot of sellers will ask for lets say $30.00, for a 2inch fish just because its a FH, not because its a "quality" fish.At two inches it's hard to tell quality and IMO 30 bucks is too much for a pale colorless 2inch FH,and not know what it will look like in adulthood.Just trying to help fellow members make an educated purchase. I'm in no way trying to give validity to why and why not to buy any particular FH. Just wanted to tell that FH's are supposed to be priced based on grade+size, not size alone. Hope this helps:D

Just follow the late Bruce Lee: " There is what is, only when there is no comparing and to live with what is is to be peaceful." What you have there my friend is a high scale low balled wonder of pricing and greed. AKA an ornamental fish. Exept the fish and you will be happy with the fish.:wall:

Thanks for all the info, very informative. I paid just under $80 for him as a full grown adult. That sounds fair based on what everyone has said. Like I said before, I think he looks better than the high grade FH's. I am not a big fan of the really bright colors and massive humps. He has alot of personality and aggression. He is all by himself and I really enjoy him. I didn't know anything about FH's before I got him. I just thought he was an impressive fish.
