An ATS will pretty much keep phosphates and nitrates at zero, while supporting a healthy fauna population. Couple that with apropriate bio-filtration and you have a tank that can run for a long period of time with out a w/c. All this is presumably in a sump, which is going to help keep disolved oxygen levels where they need to be, and topping off with dechlorinated tap will replace carbonates, etc neccesary to keep ph, calc, mag (and so on) at good levels.

I believe all test measure in ppb or ppm

The point of this thread is that pevine thinks that you need an rodi. Thats a joke. My reef was 10x his when I was 12. Tap.

My tap is 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate, 0 phosphates...why shoudl I waste money on membranes, TDS meters, and buffers, when I HAVE, AWESOME, CALCIUM RICH, HARD WATER?!?

Please. Take the above sentence, and force it into your brain. Then, absorb that information, and then come back with a rebuttal that actually makes sense...

why is it that just about every on the other site uses RODI water.......but no one here does?...............

i bet if i put this poll on any reef fourm over 85% will use RO/DI. why is that? are all of those people bad for treating their fish right?:WHOA:

This thread is dumb... I can't believe I wasted my time reading through the whole thing...why do you guys have to argue over which type of water you use? to me, this thread is here only to cause problems and should be removed, seriously , people aren't gonna change their ways when they have had nothing but success, so you might as well just keep your opinions to yourself... all ****talking parties should be ashamed of themselves, your arrogance is sickening

I just think its wrong that someone would advise you to go out and do something that you dont need to do unless h2o testing says you do.

And no...at 12 I had my own reef. Thats why I am the manager of a ichthyology lab now. Score one for smarty. Im done.
