You sound old
Are you saying people from South Florida are old, people who forget to capitolize are old, or people who dont get upset over friendly greetings are old. your post is a bit confusing... perhaps that makes me sound old LOL?
Anyway, at 34 years old I grew up in a time when people took the time to exchange a few nice words, even if they didn't realy want to know how your day went. It wasn't incincere, but it was a general statement intended to show consideration of the person you were interacting with.
Strangely, today we seem more interested in minimizing live comunications so that we have more time for nonsyncrinus (sp?) communications such as texting, e-mail, and internet forums. And, while I do enjoy a good forum thread, it is a poor substitute for actual human interaction.
Now, nonsyncrinus (sp) comunication is an issue I think is becoming more of a problem in modern society. While there is great benifit to using such comnication for information exchange (such as places like MFK) and sharing imformation that may be of general interest to a specialized population (again just like MFK). The negatives are that many people often become so accustomed to the quick phrasiology and lack of real content (such as marathon texters who cant work a part time job without checking their phone every three minutes) that they fail to understand the subtleties of social interaction and become quickly confused or aggitated when forced to interact socialy for any period of time. So, when the person on the other end of the drive through speaker says," how are you?" we quickly become aggitated because whe don't understand the intent of the statement or the correct way to respond. we much prefer to simply call out "#7 with a coke" and pretend we are just speaking to a metal box and not an actual person.
of course thats just my thoughts on the subject (and I'm just an old man anyway), and realizing that most forum users dont read posts longer than a few sentences or just skim through for pics I'm sure my words are quite inconsequntial. So, please continue with the humorous rant on the marketing practices of fast food retailers and their attempt to conect with customers who wish to remain disconnected.
