I use tilapia.

I have about 12 very large tilapia in a 240g tank and keep the fry in two diff. tanks.

55g for the tiny guys and a 180g for the guys who are ready to be fed.

my girlfriends dad had the tanks, but no fish, so he was excited when I asked him if I could put my tilapia in his tank. Little did he know he was my feeder-breeder! :headbang2

They breed like crazy- and the fry grow at insane rates! Before I know it they're too big for my cats and aro so we gotta eat them ourselves! (Hasnt happened yet, but its a matter of time).

As the title says. However, please be reasonable. Don't say arowana, because that is not a feeder! And yes, many small fish could, but is it really worth it?Maybe more common types. For example here is what I use: rosy reds, guppies(not the fancy kind),and platies. What about you?P.S. I know many feeders harbor diseases and stff, but this is a time when its like if you have to.

er we use fire-tailed gudgeons, Hypseleotris galii , swordtails, Xiphophorus helleri and for the bigger fish silver perch Bidyanus bidyanus

Any fish from a good sorce thats cheep and is breed in numbers is good food , except goldfish. Rats seem to work out cheeper for the gars though.

Faster, bigger, maybe..Easier..no...Cons can breed and rear in a 20....

Goldfish, rosy reds, and any accidental pregnancies from platys, guppies, or mollies but other than that i consider it to be a pet not a meal

I have no idea. I've never bred convicts... have thought about it many times tho.

ok easier was the wrong word sorry, im breeding and rearing cons in a 10 gallon right now, little 1" guys already goin at it.

but throw a male tilapia and a female tilapia in a tank together and youll get tons of fry that grow fast, all you need is a decent sized tank
