What fish is this?

I arent sure of the exact species of loach but Nemacheilus platiceps sounds very likely, in which case it only gets to 2.5". I would say watch that polypterus. The polypterus which looks like polypterus senegalus will get to about 16" eventually but 10" quickly at which size it will eat the loach very quickly. So keep an eye on it.

OP better be careful, if the loach sticks out its cheek spines inside the bichir, there'll be trouble.

Ye i agree the loach will probably cause the polypterus a large ammount of damage or even kill it but i would think that the loach would die too. You certainly dont want two dead fish
.I once saw a corydoras adolfoi rip a small (7-8") polypterus endlicheri's mouth to bits when it tried to eat it. (my cousins community tank). My cousin netted it out and used a disgorger (for fishing) to get the cory out but the cory died and the endli never looked the same again.
wow, yeah that would suck. The bichir never bothers the other fish but i really hope he doesn't try to eat the loach.
I have a African dwarf frog in there too and hes a bit smaller, the bichir could easily eat him but hasn't tried yet.
