That would be great! Is it save to keep a florida gar with smaller polypterus species like dels?
It's a risk due to predatory nature but a nice fat full grown del might be safe

Thanks for the advice and i will definitely keep it in mind.But i really like my bichirs and don't want to do something, that could risk their life/health...evene if it's unlikely...
I have a Florida kept with del. its fine. Florida gar in no way would grow up to 4ft in home aquaria, and is alrdy extraordinary to find one 4ft in size in the wild. They usually range from 18-24” in home aquaria settings. Hence would be too small to be able to eat a del
African knives. I miss my group a lot, their dynamics and behaviour was intriguing, and their looks so unusual. Definitely getting more in future!

I bought my Florida gar around a year and a half ago, and I have loved him ever since.
He's around 17.5 inches atm, and he is trained to eat from my hand.

, a 6X3 is plenty of space for a Florida gar to be housed in for many years. You really only see them get 2 foot in captivity.
