Are you serious? You're probably one of the most irresponsible persons I've ever come across...

Not a good move, especially when you're dealing with a requiem shark, such as a black tip!
I'm also pretty certain that Freedom in America does not cover the mistreatment of animals. ;)

yeah and what are you going to do about it? exactly nothing... do you plan on saving every fish that is sold? or how about this... do you even know how livestock get shipped and handled? or how a wholesaler handles fish? how about the fact that you shouldnt even take the RISK of a fish's life just to put him into a 300g tank when he has millions of gallons of water to begin with. please do not get ethical with keeping fish. theres billions of fish out there housed in the wrong tank, mistreated, or die every single minute. if im a big moron... i wonder how your whole life must have been mr. perfect. too bad for fish... but how about donating your money you spent on killing fish and imprisoning fish to people who really need it like the homeless or starving kids in africa. please... you brought this on yourself. theres more to life than fish and if someone wants to do whatever they want to a fish thats their choice... as long as their are people willing to take care of it after they get sick of it.... like a zoo or someone with more money invested in fish.
your right... freedom in america doesnt cover mistreatment of fish.... but hey... it doesnt say you cant kill fish on your free time. you vegan by the way? because hell... i hope you are if your going to back your stuff up with me because i can go the whole 9 yards if you want to get technical.

by the way... im not 100% wrong about black tip sharks. they are found in shallow parts of the water... as low as 30cm if i remember correctly... which is about 11". length wise... yes they will outgrow his tank... but tell me is it still ok to imprison a LIVING CREATURE? or is it still ok for a LFS to sell corals to anyone even knowing the fact that our reef eco system is f-ed up? how about is it ok for you to take home a part of our eco system and take it out of it's natural habitat... just for your own PLEASURE? please... dont call me a moron... because at least ill admit my mistakes and not pretend "im mr. perfect and ill correct everyones mistakes because im right all the time"

how many fish have died just so that you can have that one fish in your tank?

also cardinals but they are a little more fragile and smaller than those previously listed, would be good if you decided to do like a thousand little fish. which are you more interested in?

HAHAHA im pretty sure you just talked youself out of anyone worthwhile on this site ever helping you again. Yes your right about alot of the stuff you said about shops selling arrowanas, RTC and corals ect to ppl without knowing whether there tank is right for them. BUT THAT IS THE POINT OF THIS SITE!!!! So ppl can come here and ask what is RIGHT to put in there tank not just what will survive unhappily for a few months before dying a disgusting death in its own filth.
There is a big difference between being told a shark is ok for your tank by some dodgy LFS guy and accidently killing it through not knowing anybetter, and knowing 100% you shouldnt keep something yet do it anyway and possibly kill it. Not to many places have the space for an almost 2' blacktip when it outgrows your tank so your generally stuck with it.

wow... did you not read? did i not mention a suggestion of getting a smaller black tip and then selling it when it outgrows the tank or donating it to a zoo? maybe you want to read my deleted posts before you come in here looking like a smarta$$. do you even have any experience with a black tip shark? do you even know the people around you probably have a lot bigger tank than yours? just because you assume its difficult to get rid of... it doesnt mean your right. dont go jumping on the bandwagon when you dont know the whole topic buddy

p.s. look through the threads ive been in... tell me how many of them have asked about "help." lol. topic has been dropped already too. if you want to discuss this PM me

Did you know that 90% of the time, aquariums and zoos don't accept donation of large fish, especially sharks, from fish hobbyists?

sigh....

10%? is that a fact? can you prove that? also... did i not mention that it was A POSSIBILITY? meaning... if you wanted to get rid of it... that was an option.... but there are others. now isnt there? dont pick out 1 thing and bash me on it. seriously one opinion is one opinion. your opinion cant always be right when it comes to someone else's opinion.... or the way they look at things. you guys like to play it on the "safe side" and make sure everything is perfect. other people arent like that... i guess thats the kind of person i am... i get something small and then stick it in a grow out tank... then stick him into a larger tank. why not? whats wrong with that? if the original poster doesnt take my idea because he doesnt want to get another tank... then its done.

maybe now you want to answer my "live" sand question? you seem to be avoiding it now. whats alive in a bag of "live" sand? maybe next time you should be more specific when your telling people about "live" sand.
