LOcal Asian supermarkets sell frozen food............Popcorn shrimp, krill, silversides, sardines, silverfish, and shrimp of all sizes..................$20 dollars worth of this stuff literally can feed a monster tank for a month..........Breeding your own feeders also saves money...........COnvict cihlids, guppies, swordtails, mollies are popular feeder breeder............The convict cichlid can be bred 3x's a month.......Twice a month is reasonable.............Each spawn will hatch out between 80-300 fry............A separate tank(20-55g) is best in raising the fry separately......................
But is any of that stuff particularly good for bringing out a fish's color?

I'd guess that shrimp would be the best from that list. Shrimp with the shell on I mean. I've heard from multiple Aro keepers that shrimp with shell on makes their Aros more red or gold.

The OP was enquiring about feeding OH Tapajos geos, sand sifting fish from SA, not tigers with fins, and outside of krill none of those other foods are going to do much as far as enhancing the color orange/red in his Tapajos.

Krill is typically far higher in astaxanthin than shrimp, especially farmed shrimp such as "popcorn" shrimp. Shell on, or not. But neither has the level of astaxanthin as found in some of todays tropical pellets & flakes. Not even remotely close.

So,to what do you attribute this brighter than normal color?

The OP has geos, geos are sand sifters so flakes are not an ideal food.
