What gar can be with a spotted/florida gar?

ive been getting that impression.... thou he seems to no his place for the min. on the pond subject, what would be a nice first step size wise, space is not the issue, the room is there for a 12' but cant really justify it if say 6, 7 or 8' round would work for a good while, then step up when needed..? is that sensible? or go straight for the big one?


as for the papers, im not sure. certainly i'd like to learn as much as possible, in particular on the whole breeding process...

no worrys.... from personal experiance, small gators will work but its gona be a short lived experience before trouble is brewing.... from what every one says dont do long or short nose...

personally id again go for a group of sp/fl add trops if you can afford later and maybe a bowfin???

bowfins work well with fl/sp from my experiences with them.... bowfin are compatible size and temp wise, and are really interesting to observe...

I have 2 needlenose and 1 Hujenta gars (fake) in my tank currently, will I be able to put a Spotted Gar in with them without there being any problems? The needlenose gars are about 8 inches long and filled out for the most part, and the Hujenta is about 6".

The Florida/Spotted will make a quick meal of both needlefish and the hujeta. Even if you get it small, it will outgrow them in no time.
