What happened to Frank Castle?

islandguy was cool, wish he was still around, jaws777 too.
I think during the big ruckus with the skull war as I called it they both got disgusted and dropped off.
Lots of people seemed to vanish during that era or you see a lot less of them these days.

Barrett, aka islandguy11 left for personal reasons. It had nothing to do with MFK. We stayed in touch for a long time after he left.

People come, people go, some are forced to leave, it's a never ending cycle on public forums.

It's a shame, I hope he's in good health and still in the hobby.

Hello; I hear from Jaws777 from time to time. Might be able to get it touch with him. He and a few others have been essentially put on permanent probation. Best to send a PM to me for details.

Some folks just don't know when to sit on their hands. Dloks was a perfect example. Luved the dude, but he got exactly what he asked for.

A good moderator is one that steps up when crowd control is required. A forum with solid membership doesn't really need mods that are experts in anything, beyond crowd control. It's not as easy as it sounds on the surface, and when push comes to shove, admin/mods rule. Abusing power? I know, how about STFU?
Or go elsewhere? No one is forced to live by these rules. Some people can't seem to grasp that. Back in the day that mod wasn't power tripping (and he banned friends of mine as well), I suspect that he was simply sick & tired of some folks thinking they had a vote on what was happening on this site. It's not like he was receiving a paid salary for arguing with people, in his spare time. Doh!

IMO one of the most experienced & knowledgeable CA cichlid keepers to ever grace this forum was banned many years ago. I stayed in touch with him as well - but if I was being honest, he had it coming too. But hey, his wife & him later had a kid and he moved on with life, as many do. Just wanted to add, this member was ultimately banned due to something that he said to a mod in a PM, something that most members would have never seen, or known about. So, sometimes people get turfed for their behind the scenes activities for actions that the rest of the membership may not even be aware of.

This is not to say that I am always in agreement with the admin/mods on this site, or their decisions. I'm not. I've had to sit on my hands plenty over the years, and I am certain some have been tempted to seriously moderate me. lol Whatever. I can take this site or leave it, so I am good to go no matter how things roll out from TPTB.

I used to PM him and a few of the others but its all fizzled out now.
They were crazy times, the mods must have been getting very agitated dealing with all the dramas. One mod did tell me what we saw on the forum was just the tip of the iceberg and the biggest wars went on behind the scenes. As @RD said, they arent getting paid and i imagine it was taking too much of their personal time so the probation rule was put in place to make it easier for them to control everyone.

Im surprised no one has made a joke about the punisher comic in relation to where is Frank Castle now, something along the lines of he is waging war against organised crime from an underground location wearing a skull Tshirt and cant have tanks anymore.

Hello; I was part of those behind the scenes conversations with at least two mods. Some quite long back and forth conversations. As I told at least one of them I took on tasks during my teaching career for which I did not get paid. The pay did not stop me from doing the task the right way. I started an academic team for my school. I used my own free time after school to drive the team to the matches. ( I was a school bus driver). I held team practices after school and such.

Had the probation and other punishments been more even handed I figure there would have been much less rancor.
