One problem is that they sell motoro. John G just got done saying a 600 gallon 4 ft wide tank its not big enough.

This is the problem people ask the tank size for life
Not many people buy one ray and keep it for life someone may buy a motoro as they are quoted to be a good starter ray
So people buy a motoro for a 150 gal then they see how easy rays are to keep so they buy a bigger tank and put the 1-2 year old motoro in the bigger tank at which point they think I have a massive 600 gal and rays are easy to keep so they move it up a notch and buy a black ray or high grade marble
This was the focus of this thread people buy a motoro as a starter ray they then stay with rays and move on to more expensive rays or the motoro they buy dies so they try again or give up
If you buy a healthy ray and you can't keep it alive you shouldn't be keeping fish let alone rays they are that easy to keep
As for a 600 being to small for a motoro for life taking into account they can live for 15 years + I would say yes a 4 ft wide 600 gal is to small
I have a 5 year old female p14 which are classed as one of the smaller black rays and it would be cruel to put he in anything less than 4ft wide BUT se is abnormally big compared to my other p14 which are meant to max out at 16-18 inch disk
So you never know the max size and any sizes mentioned should be classed as the very min size
People say rays stay smaller in a tank how can we say that's true if you provide them with the right tank space and good water I would even go as far as saying they may even be getting better food in out tanks if fed on a high grade pellet compared to what they get in the wild as I feed my rays daily as much as they can eat so they wouldn't eat more in the wild
