  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wow that is quite a change! im starting to see a goldy tinge! what makes me laugh i brought two more, the same size and there both orange! iv got all three quite trained up, there already begging and thats at 3/4"

nice welcome to the world of faders! Theyre great and im sure youll love them.

Since your new to faders/parrots, i will share with you this fact- faders organize their social structure through black spots. Once all of them fade, the one with the most black spots will be the lowest one and the one that is solid colour is the leader. Just thought you should know that its pretty important in understanding fader societies. Hav fun!

You should take a few pics to keep track of the progress, usually once they start it's harder to see little changes. Mine have surpirsed me again this past week, they have really turned up the oranges already. Here is an update from tonight.

im still at the yellowy stage! but ill defo post you a progress thread :-) and thanks both for your help! i really thought id scored a hybrid when i brought it! did you see my sexing thread? with parrots, which point down and which point backwards (in terms of bits lol)

Well, it is a hybrid, just not a rare one. Parrots sex pretty much like other SA/CA cichlids, the males are pointy and face the rear, the females are rounder. Once they get in the three inch size range it's easier to see.

He/she has really good fins. I hope he fades for you. I'd guess female based on the shape of the dorsal and anal fin but it hard to tell with Blood parrots.
