I dont know what they are made of so to speak, but I really like them. I think they are interesting and compliment certain fish very well.

mine thinks he is the biggest midas to exist hahakevbc03;3317272; said:Haha they sound like very entertaining fish to have. What is a proper tank size for 2 of them?

JTRG05;3317936; said:I've heard across the net people saying 1 needs 30 gallons, but considering I see the max size often quoted at 10", I would recommend at least a 55 gallon for 2 of them. Little over a year mine is probably 6 or 7 inches, I don't know for sure, I can't nor do I want to net her for measurent (unneeded stress). And no, I have no idea if she's a female or not, we just call her a her just because ha. She has been deemed the creepiest fish in the tank, she floats at the front of the tank just staring at people. She will stare someone down the entire duration they are in the room.
This photo courtesy of my epic failure camera. The camera washed her out, she is more orange in person![]()

Indeed, mine is not full grown in a 55 and looks huge, she has grown about as fast as my JD as a reference as well. I see them kept with Oscars, I've seen one kept with a Red Devil. I joined that site when I first got my BP, I haven't been there since I started to really learn about them.
