What is a Blood Parrot exactly??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ah well that is what the website said...so I'm glad I didn't go with something less then a 75 gallon for 1 because I want him to comfortably turn around and a 75 is enough room. It might be iffy on the length though...Yeah i have an empty 75 gallon so ill probably just have 1 blood parrot plus some dithers. Thanks everyone!

In a 75 you can get 2 BP's plus dithers, I went with silver dollars but even they are at 6-7inch because i really hate small fish they freak me out, silver dollars are just cool fish and don't mind being the "kick me" boys of the tank.

I've had the same fish for 3 years, I bought them all tiny ( and cheap ) I think if you get 2 baby bp's they grow up with you and then you can hand feed and stroke them.

Well if I can have 2 bp's in a 75 then even better! I don't think ill get silver dollars, like you said they get pretty big.

Since there mouths are a little different, can they still eat cichlid pellets? For example, medium Hikari Cichlid Golds?

i must say they do look quite cool these fish

I agree, and I was kinda scared to even mention them on here (because a lot of hobbyists frown upon them) but they really are interesting. So I think when I do get one (or 2 :D), I will cut the pellet in half at first? or maybe just feed them flakes.
