Im feeding bloodworms right now. The hikari bio freeze kind. Is there anywhere where I can buy food in bulk to save money and wut other foods should i feed? Thx in advance... I'm a newbie
Lupin;2208714; said:Feed bloodworms only once or twice a week. Avoid feeding them too much with those as bloodworms have very high protein content and as proteins are not easily digested, it could result in digestive upsets such as bloat and constipation. Try varying the diet with other frozen, freeze dried and commercial foods. Beefheart can also be prepared as part of its diet. Do try not to overfeed.

With juveniles, you may need to do this several times (preferably 4-5 times a day). Feed sparingly and make sure all foods are consumed within 5 minutes. Vacuum leftovers. Sub-adults and adults require less feeding. Twice a day is fine for them. Vary the diet and use bloodworms once or twice a week only.freshjivves;2211234; said:So how many times a day should I feed them? Is twice a day overfeeding?

Also as Lupin suggested I feed them Blood worms a couple of times a week. Mainly because I fined it leaves an oily film on the surface. Never thought about too much protein causing bloat though...thanks Lupin. I also throw in some beefheart once a week. Usually on one of my water change days.
