Fresh, were you at in Canada? Also, what should i feed my discus? I might get into bloodworms.. But are they any alternatives?

This sound's kinda newbie but, HOW CAN I MAKE A THEARD! I forgot..

Hi there. IMO The best diet for discus is as has been said.. one that is varied. That way not only do they get what they need nutritionwise but if you run out of something you are not stuck with discus that won't eat. Same if you decide to breed and/or sell them they are more adaptable to new surroundings with different food.. I fed mine NSL pellets for discus (You can get up there from Big Als), frozen bloodworms, tetra colorbits, krill, peas and even got them to eat flakes some times.. The more varied the better. Good luck with you discus. Sue

"Hikari Discus bio-gold" would work great as a staple. i feed it to alot of my smaller SA cichlids with great results. im surprized it want mentioned here. or maybe i missed it.

It is good stuff. I feed a lot of discus and it works well for me because it's a good feed, and I can buy it in a bulk 2.2 lb. size, which saves me money. Hikari also makes a frozen discus food, but I can't recommend it, because none of my discus will eat it. In fact, I haven't found any species of fish that will eat it.

Variety is the key. You can make your own food. There are lots of discus food recipes on the net.
