What is a good fish treat?

Has anybody raised mealworms.
I have a 35g lizard tank I am not using because it does not have tempered glass.
I figure, if I can't put fish in it, why not raise fish food in it.
I found a DIY on raising mealworms for chickens. I am doing composting worms for sure.

Update:
I took a small 10g tank and set it up to breed mealworms.
I have it on a heat pad keeping it set to 70 degrees.
Most of the mealworms are burried in the cornmeal. There are 1,000 in there.
We shall see how well they multiply.
all I have to do is keep a few fresh carrot pieces in there and maybe some apple.
