What is a Monsterfish?

I know thwe general consensus is that the ultimate monsterfish is the arapaima, even though there are many bigger or meaner fish. SA/CA cichlids are more monsterfish than the meaner riftlake cichlids, so what makes a fish a monsterfish? A tiger barb with a poor attitude? A 1' comet goldfish?

To me an objective definition would be anything that's either big, predatory or aggressive, but in reality MFK is a lifestyle

Only if there is food or sweat on them. Goldfish don't know the meaning of aggression.
