What is a Monsterfish?

A fish that stands out from the rest of its species. If you had a 6 inch betta I would call that a monster betta, a 12 inch rtc I wouldn't.

I believe there is a giant betta breed? 3"+ but not 6 lol.

Size matters. I would go with anything that does not fit in a common tank size. If you have to order or build a custom tank to keep it then it is a monster. An extremely large specimen of a smaller fish is a big, jumbo, huge, giant, large, extraordinary, etc. whatever it is but not a monster fish. By my own definition I don't have any monster fish, but enjoy seeing all of yours.
