What is a predatory fish that stays very small?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i got a 29 and was thinking either 2 figure 8's or 1 green spotted but keep in mind the both need some salt. low end for the figure8 and high end brackish to marine for green spotted

ya I have 3 golden wonder killies! They are great LOL they tottaly think they are arowanas they chomp everything I put in
How big do butterflys get?
Wut do they eat?

African butterfly will hit 4 inches, but I wouldnt have them with Golden wonder killies. They both hang in the same tank region and I think the ABF will eat the killi. Its just a bad mix

Yeah I had a Golden Wonder Killi and he was impressive. I know what you mean about eating, mine jumped for a piece of krill one time, after seeing that I knew this little fish was crazy.

ABF will eat insects and small fish that can fit in its mouth. Takes pellets, freeze-dried stuff, frozen foods etc.

I always wanted a puffer!
R there any that wud work in a 29?

Dwarf Puffers, they are small and agressive.

BEst Puffer for your tank, A. Modestus hands down, small ,aggresive, Basically a neon green freshwater triggerfish, stays about 6 inches max i believe if that. PERFECT mini monster.

if you want it to be something that will eat feeders, then leaf fish (South American kind, not Ctenopoma) are a good option, but they are not easy fish too keep

Bluegill, Redfin Pickerel, Firemouth Cichlid, Snail Bullhead, Convicts, Madtoms, Black Ghost Knife, Redtail Chalceus, etc etc. There's alot you can do with 55 gallons.

LOL hi guys I was just wonderin kuz I don't have a ton of space so I I need something small but want a predator!!!!!!! What's a predator that eats feeders and all that stuff but stays reletively small?

Puffers and Exodons...........

Belonesox belizanus. They're like mini muskellunge.

Bottomfeeder- a lot of those fish are too big for a 55, and some of the others are not piscivores.
