What is a predatory fish that stays very small?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Green Spotted Puffers aren't piscivores (though they will eat feeders when large enough, it's just not very good for them). A gsp, however, will fit nicely in a 29... 2 could inhabit a 55. Start them off at low end brackish, and work them up to marine when full grown. They may not be as "agressive" as some mini-predators, but getting a fish to watch it eat feeders half the size of your pinky is over rated anyways.

Mine hunts ghost shrimp. Plus it is a very personable fish that will live close to 15 years.

LOL hi guys I was just wonderin kuz I don't have a ton of space so I I need something small but want a predator!!!!!!! What's a predator that eats feeders and all that stuff but stays reletively small?
Peacock spotted eel.. stay away from tire tracks or fire eels.. they get wayy to big. Also get one of those african clawed frogs. They usually eat fish and stuff, they do not get THAT big either.

it turns out that it is going to have to be a 29gallon
i like the pufer ideas
how many figure 8s could i put in a 29

puffers aren't piscivores though...I'd still go with something like clawed frogs and maybe a small group of african butterflyfish

i agree on the african butterfly fis, and u can still add tankmates with them.

Be aware that African Butterflyfish are some of the most powerfully boring fish you can own. Very cool fish, but the only time they come out is at night or when they know you are feeding. Otherwise they just float next to something in the darkness of the back of the aquarium.
