What is a relatively peaceful larger cichlid?

You could go with a non-cichlid that works with other cichlids like a flag tailed barb, those get big and stay peaceful.
I vote the Chocolate also or Uaru's....the only thing with Uaru's is that they need to be in groups.
I've never personally kept uaru but from what I've read, your current stock will beat on a uaru.
I definitely wouldnt go with Uaru's because of the high PH. Chocolates or Pearsei would be my choice.
Dead Cichlids are pretty peaceful, plus they don't mind hanging out in the freezer in a bag. (Okay I'm just being a smart-***)
my snook was great. never tore up anyone but would defend him self well against my male mota. The snook and mota would lock lips but the Snook was never the aggressor, just holding his own and the end result would always be that both would stand down with minimal damage to both. OP wants something over 12+, a male snook would exceed that but I dont think i've seen a female over 12+. I'm no snook expert tho.
