As far as i know the only reason for the term " asian style " is because it seems to be a populer trend in Japan, China, Thiland and other asian countries i could be wrong but i know for a fact there are a few white people with asian style tanks

Mabye were looking at the term asian style all wrong mabye the names just means to imply that you have a crazy kick ass ninja tank thats just a little to over populated :grinno:

Aslo I just noticed there are several of these threads going right now Oppps
I've yet to see something like that here in the Philippines but many people here frown on that style of stocking as far as I can figure out.

Yeah alot of the ones in the first pic look un healthy but in some of the other pics even the second to the last one with the Arapamia the fish look pretty damn good on the out side at least

Thank god someone showed these. I have little tech savvy, so thank you to Killerfish.

None of those tanks are "inspiration", they're all cruel. Fish need more than a stable biological bed to be healthy.
Oh come on, cass... I thought my use of the smiley would hint that I wasn't being entirely serious.

those are what i call monster tanks. :headbang2

i believe that most asians like me prefer to have a crowded tank. but i can say that the maintenance of such tanks are hell lots of work. i have to wash my filters every 2-3 wks and everytime the sludge is very thick. the peak of my tank was close to 40 fish in the range of 3"-18" in my 4'x2'x2'. now i "only" have 20+ fishes ranging from 3"-18" in the same tank.

when i had around 30 fish in there:

the above picture was taken during my water change. i have some driftwood and bogwood in the tank for the smaller fish to hide. ;)

It's terrible coz the glare is so bad you can't see anything but if I use the flash...you get the reflection of the flash
