Nice fish everyone , Although i love all Channa species for the most part my tastes lean towards the subtropical Indian species.
My favorite is aurantimaculata for sure, arguably the nicest color and pattern of any channa a nice size.
close second would be asiatica, highly under rated species I have a feeling they will blow up like the stewartii variants did in the near future.
It would be difficult to pick a 3rd place between pleuro's, ornatipinnis. And for a 4th again it would be hard to decide between Barca & bleheri.
I probably shocked a few people there but i find Barca, although beautiful , are slightly overrate due to the rareness of the species. Bleheri On the other hand are a STUNNING dwarf who i think is highly underrated because it's one of the more readily available in the pet trade.
(no pic's of the last 4 species because i don't have them in my tanks.... yet....)
